1999 Pollution Abatement Costs and Expenditures (PACE) data
The 1999 survey was conducted by the Bureau of the Census and sponsored by EPA. The PACE data represent the only comprehensive source of information on pollution abatement expenditures for manufacturing, mining, and electric utilities in the U.S. The 1999 survey reflects several refinements from earlier versions of the survey, including the use of the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS); separate categories for pollution prevention, disposal and recycling; and changes in terminology for many cost categories.
